Description
The Multi Interconnection Termination or MIT Box is designed to simplify the combining of various discrete signals and Power into a single umbilical cable for connecting a monitor that is mounted in an exposed location such as an external steering position on a ship or boat.
The MIT box is mounted in a dry and secure position and the various signal and power cables are connected to it using standard conventional unsealed connectors. The umbilical carrying all power and signals is then connected to the externally mounted monitor using fully sealed connectors.
Other versions have been produced that incorporate mains power adaptors allowing monitors to be located remotely around factories and other sites particularly when combined with KVM systems allowing monitors to be positioned up to 200 meters away from the PC system.
